An anthology is a collection of works assembled into one format. For example, essays published by different authors centered around a theme are often published in a single book. Poetry is often published in an anthology. Although citing anthologies in APA 7 style may seem confusing at first, it’s actually very easy as you’ll follow the basic format of citing a chapter in an edited book.
One Work in a Collection
Using writings from anthologies is a good way to find related sources for your research paper. The way you cite a resource varies slightly depending on whether it is in print or on a website.
Print Format
The format for citing a print resource in your APA reference list, as would be the case when citing a chapter or entry in an anthology, is as follows:

- Place the name of the editor(s) in place of the author element.
- Include source elements for both the essay title and the anthology title.
